Latest News from the Fab Four!PATTI CALLAHAN HENRY enjoyed one of Alabama’s rare snow days, although she was super sad it meant missing her in-conversation event with Fiona Davis in person. She is so looking forward to the Wild Dunes Reader’s Weekend this coming weekend, with F&F’s co-founder Mary Alice Monroe. Did you know there will be an F&F Official Book Club meet-up during the weekend? Meanwhile, she announced her four-part LIVE video series and hopes to see some of you there for prizes and fun! KRISTY WOODSON HARVEY is so excited (despite the below zero temps! Yikes!) to be heading to Colorado to ski with her son this week! And… she got her first advance copy of BEACH HOUSE RULES! Hooray! She is gearing up for lots of fun events in the next few months–including, of course, the BEACH HOUSE RULES tour—which she will be announcing soon. First up, she’ll be in her hometown of Salisbury, NC at Catawba College for the Brady Author’s Symposium. Getting to be the person standing on the stage where she has been in the audience for so many years feels wild. Come see her on February 25 at 11 am. Tickets are available now! KRISTIN HARMEL came home from the hospital last Wednesday night and is on the mend, doing physical therapy at home to regain some range of motion in her knee as her broken leg heals. She is discouraged to have started the year off this way but is so grateful for the support from so many of you; once again, you’ve made her feel supported in a time of need. Now if only she’d stop having times of need! She is broken-hearted to miss the Wild Dunes Reader’s Weekend with Patti and Mary Alice this weekend. MARY KAY ANDREWS enjoyed a week of extremes–a rare snow day in Atlanta, followed by a fun family day watching the grandkids sledding and having snowball fights followed by a big family dinner, and then a quick trip on Tuesday to sunny Fort Myers, Florida for a speaking engagement. She’s been binge reading books by upcoming F&F guests Scott Turow, (Presumed Guilty) and Christina Clancy (The Snowbirds.) And writing. Always writing. Tune in at 7pm ET for TONIGHT’s show! Join us Wednesday, January 8th at 7pm Eastern on the F&F Facebook page and YouTube channel as Patti Callahan Henry & Kristy Woodson Harvey welcome Emmy-winning journalist and #1 New York Times bestselling author Kate Fagan to discuss her electric, voice-driven debut novel, The Three Lives Of Cate Kay, about an elusive bestselling author who decides to finally confess her true identity after years of hiding from her past. Kate Fagan has published four previous books including What Made Maddy Run, a semi-finalist for the PEN/ESPN Award for Literary Sportswriting; All The Colors Came Out, a memoir of basketball and the enduring father/daughter bond; and Hoop Muses, an insider’s guide to pop culture and the women’s game on which she collaborated with WNBA legend Seimone Augustus and artist Sophia Chang. Kate spent seven years as a columnist and feature writer for espnW, ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine, was a regular panelist on ESPN's “Around the Horn,” and a host of “Outside the Lines.” Kate covered the Philadelphia 76ers for three seasons and played college basketball at the University of Colorado. She joins us from her home in Charleston to discuss her fiction debut, The Three Lives Of Cate Kay, which has been described as The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo meets First Lie Wins. Latest News from the Fab Four!PATTI CALLAHAN HENRY loved interviewing Kate Fagan this week for the show; it’s a fantastic conversation! Patti is back at the desk and preparing for the release of The Story She Left Behind in only ten weeks. Did you see her announcement about the LIVE VIDEO SERIES where you can hear the backstory and ask her anything? She is also headed to Charleston for the Wild Dunes Reader’s Weekend with our F&F co-founder Mary Alice Monroe, and she would love it if you all joined her. The Official Book Club with Brenda and Lisa will also be hosting a get together during this amazing weekend. KRISTY WOODSON HARVEY had the best break with her family and is so excited that 2025 is here because… It’s the year of Beach House Rules! She had her first official marketing and publicity meeting on Monday and is so excited about all the plans–especially the tour! Speaking of tour, she has a lot of fun dates before the release too, so check out kristywoodosnharvey.com/tour-dates for more information. Notably, she is speaking at the Brady Symposium at Catawba College in her hometown of Salisbury, NC on February 25 and would LOVE to see you there! She grew up going to this event, and it feels very full-circle to be asked to be the speaker. (And appropriate for the run-up to her 10th year authorversary.) KRISTIN HARMEL kicked off the new year last week by breaking her leg—badly enough that she has spent the whole week in the hospital! She assumes that means that all of the year’s bad luck is getting out of the way in the very first week! MARY KAY ANDREWS discovered that eating “lucky” collard greens and black-eyed peas and wearing her “lucky” socks does NOT guarantee a win for her alma mater in the Sugar Bowl. A bitter pill, indeed. MKA has spent the week getting back into the office and tackling the manuscript for her next book and getting in her 10k-step daily walks. And binge-reading the incredibly compelling Presumed Guilty for author Scott Turow’s upcoming appearance on Friends & Fiction.
