Latest News from the Fab Four!

MARY KAY ANDREWS loved being in conversation with Joshilyn Jackson about her new domestic thriller Missing Sister at Eagle Eye Books in Decatur, Ga. last week. (Jos left lots of signed books behind if you still need a copy.) She loved having son Andy and his family home for the weekend to celebrate daughter-in-law Meg’s birthday. On Monday she had the joy of being with a roomful of talented young writers (and their parents and teachers) in Southwest Georgia, to recognize the winners of the Chattahoochee-Flint District Regional Educational Service Agency writing competition. MKA is this close to announcing the tour for ROAD TRIP, so stay tuned to her Facebook & Instagram for all the deets.

KRISTIN HARMEL had such a blast hanging out with Patti (and other Friends & Fiction faves such as Fiona Davis, Annabel Monaghan, Lisa Wingate, Sarah Pekkanen, Alka Joshi, Peter Abrahams (who writes as Spencer Quinn), Wally Lamb, and more!) at the Southwest Florida Reading Festival in Fort Myers over the weekend. If you’re in the Sunshine State next March, make it a point to attend! Kristin is just three weeks away from the release of THE STOLEN LIFE OF COLETTE MARCEAU in paperback, and she’s gearing up for the July 28 release of MEET ME IN PARIS!

KRISTY WOODSON HARVEY had so much fun over the weekend celebrating her dad’s birthday in his hometown of Wilmington, NC and revisiting some of his favorite places! She is putting the finishing touches on her SUMMER STATE OF MIND tour, beginning May 1, and–unbelievably!--working on FALLING FOR PEACHTREE BLUFF tour, coming September 15 as well. Latest News from the Fab Four!

MARY KAY ANDREWS spent a whirlwind weekend in New York City, along with her favorite ROAD TRIP wing-woman Meg Walker (see what we did there?). The itinerary included a spin through the Chelsea Flea Market and dinner with old publishing friends including John Searles, whose new novel SINGLE GIRLS will be out in July. Look for John and MKA to pair up this summer on book tour. The highlight of the weekend was attending a talk by historian Heather Cox Richardson. On Monday, MKA was in conversation with our Patti, on day one of the paperback launch of THE STORY SHE LEFT BEHIND at Poe & Company Books. Patti left lots of stories behind, if you didn’t catch her there. (Ooops. Did it again.) And if you’re in Atlanta this Thursday, come catch MKA in conversation with Joshilyn Jackson at Eagle Eye Books in Decatur, where they’ll be chatting about Joshilyn’s new thriller MISSING SISTER. KRISTIN HARMEL is so excited that she gets to do not one but TWO events with Patti this week: Once tomorrow (Thursday) when they are in conversation at Writer’s Block Bookstore in Winter Park to celebrate the paperback launch of Patti’s THE STORY SHE LEFT BEHIND and then again on Saturday at the Southwest Florida Reading Festival in Fort Myers, where Kristin and Patti will be in conversation again at 1pm on Adult Stage A. The reading festival will also include F&F faves such as Fiona Davis, Annabel Monaghan, Sarah Pekkanen, Alka Joshi, Lisa Wingate, Wally Lamb, Brad Thor, and more… Kristin is looking forward to seeing all of them, and she hopes you’ll come out, too, if you’re in Southwest Florida! She also learned to play cribbage last weekend (taught by her father-in-law, Mark, and her husband’s 90-year-old grandfather, Grandpa Trouba, a fellow World War II buff) and went to a fun Sister Hazel concert with several friends at House of Blues in Orlando.

KRISTY WOODSON HARVEY had the best time at the Amelia Island Book Festival with so many amazing authors, including F&F faves like Kate Quinn and Ashley Elston! PATTI CALLAHAN HENRY spent a lovely weekend attending the Southern Voices in Hoover, AL — where she got to visit with author pals like Ariel Lawhon, Katherine Center, and Hank Phillippi Ryan — before getting things underway bright and early Monday morning for the paperback tour for THE STORY SHE LEFT BEHIND. Things kicked off in grand style with a double-header in Atlanta on Monday. Poe & Co hosted a fabulous luncheon event where Patti was joined by F&F’s own MKA and then she was joined by Colleen Oakley that same evening with Cobb County Library. Tuesday brought her to Winston-Salem, NC and today she shuffled down to Florida where the rest of her tour events will take place over the next week. It has been so amazing to see so many incredible F&F community members. Patti is so grateful to all of you who have made it out to her events so far. It means the world. Latest News from the Fab Four!

MARY KAY ANDREWS had a great trip to New York City last week to meet with her publishing team and hear all the amazing plans for publication of ROAD TRIP. Sitting in the audience at the Ed Sullivan Theater to watch the taping of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert was a bucket list item, made better by the fact that her U.S. Senator from Georgia, Jon Ossoff, was the lead guest. Dinner after was at her favorite Italian restaurant, Rossini’s. The publishing meeting (and lunch) was exciting, but the thrifting trip afterward, with her editor and our own Meg Walker, was the cherry on top. Continuing the tradition of catching a Broadway show with Meg, they saw Jonathan Groff in the Bobby Darin jukebox show, JUST IN TIME. (Do not sleep on catching this show!) Drinks after at Sardi’s. On Friday, MKA braved the cold and soaking rain to do a walking tour of the Gilded Age mansions of the Upper East Side. Next Monday, she’s looking forward to joining our Peach, aka Patti, in a fun luncheon at Poe and Company Books in Atlanta to celebrate the paperback publication of The Story She Left Behind. KRISTIN HARMEL spent the weekend at the beach with her husband and son, visiting with her mother, brother, sister-in-law and niece, and rooting for Team USA as the Olympics closed out (Did you watch that amazing hockey game?). This week, she’s looking forward to a live event with author Shara Moon at Barnes & Noble on Colonial Drive in Orlando tomorrow (Thursday) night, to celebrate Shara’s LET US MARCH ON (get tickets HERE), and to a Sister Hazel concert on Friday night. (Ken Block and Drew Copeland from the band were guests on an episode of F&F during the show’s first season – still one of Kristin’s very favorite episodes.) Kristin is also looking forward to TWO events with Patti in Florida next week!

KRISTY WOODSON HARVEY announced her tour for SUMMER STATE OF MIND, beginning on May 1 in Charleston, SC! Will she be in a city near you? If she is, she hopes you will come see her! Her son’s last ever middle school basketball game was on Monday and, yes, there were tears shed. Time flies! Meanwhile, she’s gearing up for a book tour that starts on Monday, and wondering if it will be 20 degrees or 80 because no one knows anymore! Latest News from the Fab Four!

MARY KAY ANDREWS had a weekend of family fun, starting with watching her grandson play his first high school JV baseball game—at the same high school attended by his mom and uncle—playing at the same position (catcher) as his Uncle Andy and his grandfather. And they won! Valentine’s Day dinner date with Mr. MKA at their favorite restaurant on Saturday night, and Sunday helping granddaughter Molly host a Galentine’s Day tea party with her besties. This week she’s excited to travel to NYC for meetings with her publishing team to discuss ALL the plans for ROAD TRIP. Also on tap? Attending a taping of The Late Show with Colbert, and a Broadway show, maybe a museum visit, and who knows, possibly a little thrift shopping?

KRISTIN HARMEL spent a lazy long weekend (including the school holiday for Presidents’ Day) celebrating Valentine’s Day and going to Epcot all three days(!) to support her 10-year-old, Noah, in his quest for Disney Lorcana cards. (Kristin and her family have Disney annual passes and live 25 minutes or so from Disney World, so it’s not unusual for them to pop into the parks for a few hours here or there.) On Tuesday, she spoke at the Sanibel (FL) Public Library’s Author Series, which was wonderful (and what a lovely chance to spend a bit of time by the water!), and she used the drive (four hours each way) to listen to the audiobook of The Correspondent… She’s getting excited about March’s Friends & Fiction chat with The Correspondent author Virginia Evans and Theo of Golden author Allen Levi! She also celebrated the 20-year anniversary of the publication of her very first book (which came out Feb. 16, 2006) this week!

KRISTY WOODSON HARVEY is just so very excited about all the big things coming up! She will be announcing the tour for SUMMER STATE OF MIND any minute, so make sure you’re subscribed to her email list to get all the dates first! AND, she has a big announcement coming the week of February 23, so stay tuned! She had a great Valentine’s Day weekend with her family, and is thrilled that her son’s basketball team are officially conference champions. Woo hoo! The playoffs are next week, so cross your fingers…

PATTI CALLAHAN HENRY had a beautiful Valentine’s/35th Anniversary Weekend! She spent it doing something she’s never done, which was so fun – she rode along (very slowly and carefully) on a horse through thousands of acres of South Alabama land and learned of the history and the land’s hidden stories from a UK-based (you know she loved that) cartographer! A CARTOGRAPHER – like she fell into one of her own books. Now she is back to finishing one book and brainstorming the next with her ideas all abuzz. Oh, don’t forget her paperback tour is coming up ASAP!!! Come see her with some incredible in-conversation partners.

Latest News from the Fab Four!

MARY KAY ANDREWS spent a delightful afternoon on Saturday at the F&F Official Book Club Galentine’s Day party in Atlanta, at Poe & Company Books, with author pal Lynn Cullen. She always loves getting to see (and hug!) our F&F members. Like the rest of America, she’s been glued to the television, watching the Olympic winter games. She and her publishing team are putting the finishing touches on plans for the summer tour for Road Trip, so watch her social media for all the deets!

KRISTIN HARMEL is celebrating both her husband Jason’s and her son Noah’s birthdays this week! (She actually went into labor with Noah ten years ago on Jason’s birthday!) So it’s a full week of celebrations–mixed in with second pass pages (another chance to see the full manuscript, laid out in print form) of MEET ME IN PARIS! She’s also loving all the Olympics coverage on NBC–and speaking of NBC, she (along with many of you) is holding Savannah Guthrie and her family close in her thoughts and prayers.

KRISTY WOODSON HARVEY celebrated her husband’s birthday with lots of friends and an EPIC Tar Heel basketball win in the form of a 3-pointer at the buzzer. And loved watching Drake Maye–another former Tar Heel–in the Super Bowl. And, let’s face it, watching the commercials. She is watching the Olympics every free second. Figure skating has always been her favorite. She celebrated her short story LEAVE IT UP TO LOVE hitting #7 overall on Kindle, and wants to remind everyone that if you are an Amazon Prime member, it is totally free for you! She is working away on all the promotion for SUMMER STATE OF MIND in the form of interviews and lots of essays about summer and beach houses while it is absolutely freezing in Beaufort! Wishing everyone a wonderful week!

PATTI CALLAHAN HENRY spent the week wrapping up the final edits for her new book – title to be announced soon! She just announced a few more events so check out her website (including a Feb. 22nd event with Allen Levi, author of Theo of Golden that so many of you love). Her paperbacks of The Story She Left Behind have arrived (check it out on Instagram HERE) and she is gearing up for paperback tour starting March 2nd! Please do come out and say hello! She is obsessed with the figure skaters and their stories in the Olympics (especially Barb and Nancy – IFYKYK!)
