Her parents came to visit and they drove to Auburn to watch the most nail-biting basketball game where number one Auburn beat Georgia (Sorry, MKA). Patti was thrilled with all the good news that came through this week about THE STORY SHE LEFT BEHIND, including a Barnes and Noble Most Anticipated Book, and others! You can always check her blog for more information. More news coming soooon! She also recorded a fascinating podcast on The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe and her novel Once Upon a Wardrobe. LISTEN HERE. KRISTY WOODSON HARVEY had the best weekend! Her son won First Prize in the county art show for his etching of a wood duck–Yay! And she got to sit courtside to watch her Tar Heels beat UVA. (Best of all, she was warned that she would likely end up with a player in her lap, but did NOT.) Yesterday, she spoke at Catawba College in her hometown of Salisbury, NC, and, today, it’s back to Chapel Hill for three days of meetings and events celebrating women in athletics, the Women’s Leadership Council, and remembering the phenomenal Eve Carson, whose bright light was dimmed way too soon. Did you see that Kristy has announced her PREORDER FREEBIES for Beach House Rules? So exciting! Three months and counting! KRISTIN HARMEL is counting down the seconds until her appointment with her orthopedic surgeon tomorrow and has all her fingers crossed that she will finally be cleared to begin bearing weight on her left leg again after a bad break at the beginning of January. She’s hard at work on her next book and is looking forward to finalizing her tour dates for THE STOLEN LIFE OF COLETTE MARCEAU (coming in June) very soon! She’s also trying to watch several Oscar-nominated films this week in advance of Sunday’s Academy Awards; so far, her vote for Best Picture is a toss-up between “Conclave” and “Anora,” both of which she loved. MARY KAY ANDREWS enjoyed meeting so many wonderful readers this past weekend at the Opelika Book Festival. As a bonus, her son and his family joined her for an impromptu overnight at the resort hotel. Now she’s back at work on what she’s calling her Ireland book and looking forward to a fundraiser she’ll be doing next week, Mar. 6, for the Madison-Morgan County, GA Boys and Girls Club. She binge read two books last week–(more on this later) including The Devil At His Elbow: Alex Murdaugh and the Fall of A Southern Dynasty by Wall Street Journal reporter Valerie Bauerlein, whom she and Meg met at the Savannah Book Festival, and Every Tom, Dick & Harry by Elinor Lipman, which was just published this week.
