Tune in at 7pm ET for TONIGHT’s episode!
Join us Wednesday, September 3rd at 7pm Eastern on the F&F Facebook page and YouTube channel as Kristin Harmel & Kristy Woodson Harvey welcome NYT-bestselling author Sarah McCoy to discuss her spellbinding new novel, Whatever Happened To Lori Lovely?, which is based on the true story of a beautiful young movie star of Hollywood’s Golden Age who gives up her bright career to become a nun.
Sarah is the New York Times, USA Today, and internationally bestselling author of six novels including Mustique Island, Marilla of Green Gables, and The Baker’s Daughter, which was a nominee for the Goodreads Choice Award for Best Historical Fiction. Her work has been featured in the short story collection Grand Central as well as in Newsweek, Lit Hub, and Real Simple. Previously a writing teacher at Old Dominion University and the University of Texas at El Paso, Sarah hosted the monthly radio program “Bookmarked with Sarah McCoy” and is the founder of The McCoy Grant for southern booksellers who dream of being published authors. She joins us from her home in Winston-Salem, NC to discuss Whatever Happened To Lori Lovely? (William Morrow, Sept. 2), which Chris Bohjalian calls, “part mystery, part history, [and] always a joy.”
Watch the video broadcast of this interview as it airs on Wed 9/3 at 7pm ET on the F&F Facebook group page & YouTube channel. Catch the audio version on our podcast Fri 9/5.

MARY KAY ANDREWS spent the week at her one-woman writing retreat in the North Georgia mountains, then came home for a long Labor Day weekend of . . . more writing. Head down, fingers on keyboard is her plan for this week..
KRISTIN HARMEL spent Labor Day weekend at – where else? – her beloved Disney World, with her husband, son, and mom. She’s excited for you to hear Sarah McCoy chat with her and Kristy on this week’s show—and she’s loving The Academy, the latest from Elin Hilderbrand and her daughter Shelby Cunningham, who we’ll be welcoming on next week’s live show! See you there! In the meantime, she’s off for a whirlwind research trip later this week…. She’ll tell you all about it on social media and in next week’s newsletter!
KRISTY WOODSON HARVEY spent a wonderful long weekend with family and friends, soaking up the sun on Cape Lookout, her favorite island to boat to from Beaufort. She is so excited because she is going to see her favorite singer, James Taylor, on Thursday night and then heading back home for a little Friday Night Lights when two of her favorite high schools face off in what is sure to be a very fun football game! In between, she is working hard on copy edits for her 2026 book and a fun little project that she is hoping to announce soon!
PATTI CALLAHAN HENRY spent the (long) holiday weekend in South Carolina reading and editing and enjoying some quiet with the family. They rode a thousand miles on bikes (maybe an exaggeration) through the old haunts of Daufuskie Island where Patti’s family spent nearly thirty years before her in-laws moved off island. Patti got her greedy little hands on an early copy of Sue Monk Kidd’s new book on Writing Creativity and Soul and was reminded of the reasons she ever started writing in the first place, “Every creative act is a revelation of the self.” But the book is about so much more than writing — go pre-order yourself a copy!
